Support
Practical information about using FolioTree and keeping your genealogy safe.
Contact
Development placeholder: a public support email address has not been configured in this repository yet. Before launch, replace this paragraph with a confirmed contact address (for example, a role address you control for foliotree.co.uk).
Where your family-tree data is stored
FolioTree keeps your tree in local storage on the device where you use it — browser storage for the web app, or app storage on Android. FolioTree does not operate a cloud genealogy service that holds your tree for normal editing. Clearing site data, uninstalling the app, or using a different browser or device does not automatically transfer your tree; use exports or backups to move or protect your work.
Backups matter
Because data lives on your device, regular FolioTree backup downloads and/or GEDCOM exports are the practical way to guard against data loss, device changes, or accidental deletion. The in-app Settings area includes backup and restore actions when you use FolioTree.
GEDCOM portability
You can import GEDCOM to start or replace a tree and export GEDCOM to share or archive your work with other genealogy software. Export behaviour is designed to preserve GEDCOM information FolioTree does not edit directly; always keep your own copies of important files.
Android and browser
FolioTree is available as a web application in the browser and as a native Android app (Google Play listing forthcoming). Both are intended as full product surfaces, not demos. The web app will be hosted at app.foliotree.co.uk once DNS is configured (placeholder until then).
Premium and billing
FolioTree is free today. Premium features and purchase options are planned but not yet available; see the Free vs Premium section on the home page.
